The Church museum was acquired by the Park & Recreation District through a donation from the Episcopal Church. The District was the only agency that qualified for the donation within the town of Byers and the District was willing to accept the donation rather than have the church abandoned.
The site includes the church building on a town lot, approximately 0.2 acres in size, with no outbuildings or parking area. The site is not served by water or sewer service. With the acquisition of the church, the District allows intermittent prayer services, the rental of the space for special events such as weddings, and has periodic tours through volunteer support. The Board's focus has been to support these uses and to provide basic maintenance of the structure and site.
